Mock Draft #4-The Anticipation

What a great NCAA tournament. Now complete focus shifts to the draft. It is unreal that the draft is this month and the new season is upon us. Baseball is back and spring is in the air. Love it. The Bills made some impressive changes in free agency which shifts their thinking in the draft and mine as well. So here is my 4th mock draft with one still to come.

1.) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck QB/Stanford  Despite the speculation that the Colts would be interested in RGIII, I'm not buying it. Luck will be the 1st pick.

2.) Washington Redskins: Robert Griffin III QB/Baylor  Ditto.

**Trade** The Minnesota Vikings trade the 3rd overall pick to the Miami Dolphins for the 8th overall pick and a 2nd round pick this year. Miami also trade 1st round picks in 2013 and 2014 and a 3rd round pick in 2013.
3.) Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill QB/Texas A&M  Call me crazy but Tannehill has a rising stock unlike any player I've seen before. Don't be surprised if this happens.

Justin Blackmon

4.) Cleveland Browns: Trent Richardson RB/Alabama  Could go WR here but theres good depth later in the draft. Need a stud RB.

5.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Matt Kalil OT/USC  If Kalil falls to this spot, I think the Bucs have to take him. They need help in the trenches and need to keep Josh Freeman upright and healthy.

6.) St. Louis Rams: Justin Blackmon WR/Oklahoma St.  There is growing speculation that Michael Floyd will be the 1st WR taken but not according to me. Blackmon has playmaker written all over him.

7.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Morris Claiborne CB/LSU  The Jags need help in their secondary and Claiborne is the best player at this position.

8.) Minnesota Vikings (from MIA): Riley Reiff OT/Iowa  The Vikings move down in the draft but pick up a solid player. I'm still not 100% sold he will be a LT in the NFL.

9.) Carolina Panthers: Fletcher Cox DT/Mississippi St.  The Panthers need more beef on the d-line. Could not stop the run last season.

**Trade** The Buffalo Bills trade the 10th overall pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the 15th overall pick and a 2nd this season. The Eagles also trade 1st round picks in 2013 and 2014.
10.) Philadelphia Eagles: Courtney Upshaw OLB/Alabama  The Eagles were terrible at the LB spot last season and Upshaw is possibly the only NFL ready player to be a true OLB. The take the chance and move up.

11.) Kansas City Chiefs: Quinton Coples DE/North Carolina  At this spot, the Chiefs go with the best player available at a need position. Coples has the ability to be a great DE if he can work on his motivation.

12.) Seattle Seahawks: Melvin Ingram OLB/DE/South Carolina  Very versatile player can fill any hole the Seahawks may have. Solid player.

Stephon Gilmore

13.) Arizona Cardinals: David DeCastro OG/Stanford  Possibly the best interior lineman in this draft, DeCastro will help stabilize the Cards' o-line.

14.) Dallas Cowboys: Stephon Gilmore CB/South Carolina  The best player that nobody talks about. He doesn't have the best stats in the world, but this is a smart stay at home defender.

15.) Buffalo Bills (from PHI): Cordy Glenn OT/Georgia  The Bills fill a need at LT and Glenn is considered by many the second best tackle in this draft. He has tremendous upside and the sky is the limit. This would be a great pick for Buffalo.

16.) New York Jets: Mark Barron S/Alabama  A safety this high is a risk but the Jets did not have much help at this position last season. Barron is a big hitter that understands a pro-style defense.

17.) Cincinnati Bengals (from OAK): Mike Adams OT/Ohio St.  This player is a riser. He went from a sure 2nd rounder to being thrown into the top 10 in some mocks. Could be a steal.

18.) San Diego Chargers: Chandler Jones DE/Syracuse  This is another riser. Jones had great individual workouts which has vaulted him into 1st round chatter.

Josh Robinson

19.) Chicago Bears: Jonathan Martin OT/Stanford  The Bears would love to see this guy fall to their spot. At one point was a top 10 pick has slipped some. Still a great talent.

20.) Tennessee Titans: Josh Robinson CB/UCF  Might be a reach but Robinson is another fast riser. Has all the skills necessary to be a shutdown corner in the NFL.

21.) Cincinnati Bengals: Dre Kirkpatrick CB/Alabama  Kirkpatrick falls a bit because of his off the field issues and not so great indivdual workouts. Still a first round talent.

22.) Cleveland Browns (from ATL): Michael Floyd WR/Notre Dame  Because of other position needs for other teams, the Browns get lucky by taking the former Irish WR. Quality pick.

23.) Detroit Lions: Luke Kuechly LB/Boston College  The Lions defense continues to grow and get better. This would be an enormous upgrade and could make the Lions have the best defense in the NFL.

24.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Amini Silatolu OG/Midwestern St.  Small school player that is as nasty as they come. Can play OT but for the start of his career an interior lineman.

25.) Denver Broncos: Dontari Poe DT/Memphis  I may have gotten caught in the hype in my last mock. Poe is a good player but not a top 10 pick. This is a good spot for him.

26.) Houston Texans: Andre Branch DE/Clemson  Need to replace Mario Williams and Branch has found himself in the 1st round mix.

27.) New England Patriots (from NO): Whitney Mercilus DE/Illinois  The Patriots need to improve their pass rush. Mercilus maybe a one-hit wonder or a player ready to be dominant for the next 15 years.

28.) Green Bay Packers: Jerel Worthy DT/Michigan St.  The Packers need another guy to put with BJ Raji to help the run D and pass rush.

29.) Baltimore Ravens: Zach Brown OLB/North Carolina  The Ravens are one player away from being great. Adding a LB won't hurt them in their quest for a ring.

30.) San Francisco 49ers: Kendall Wright WR/Baylor  May not need a WR anymore but thinking long term, Randy Moss is a 1 year deal and Manningham is a 2. Need a young talented reciever to learn and be the guy someday.

**Trade** The New England Patriots trade the 31st overall pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for the 43rd overall pick a 3rd and 5th round this year as well as a 1st and 2nd in 2013.

Harrison Smith

31.) Seattle Seahawks: Alshon Jeffery WR/South Carolina  This pick may turn some heads but that is Pete Carroll's way of doing things. Jeffery impressed at his pro-day and has scouts suddenly very interested.

32.) New York Giants: Harrison Smith S/Notre Dame  The Giants had only one weakness last season and that was at the safety spot. Too many injuries led to big plays for opposing offenses.

Round 2

33.) St. Louis Rams: Bobby Massie OT/Ole Miss
34.) Indianapolis Colts: David Wilson RB/Virginia Tech
35.) Minnesota Vikings: Stephen Hill WR/Georgia Tech
36.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Michael Brockers DT/LSU
37.) Cleveland Browns: Kirk Cousins QB/Michigan St.
38.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Nick Perry DE/USC
39.) St. Louis Rams (fromWAS): Devon Still DT/Penn St.
40.) Carolina Panthers: Janoris Jenkins CB/North Alabama

Rueben Randle
41.) Buffalo Bills: Rueben Randle WR/LSU  The Bills need a reciever to stretch the field and put pressure on opposing defenses. Randle can fill that void. Needs to improve his health.
42.) Minnesota Vikings (from MIA): Trumaine Johnson CB/Montana
43.) New England Patriots (from SEA): Dont'a Hightower LB/Alabama
44.) Kansas City Chiefs: Brandon Thompson DT/Clemson
45.) Dallas Cowboys: Vinny Curry DE/Marshall
46.) Philadelphia Eagles: Jayron Hosley CB/Virginia Tech
47.) New York Jets: Dwayne Allen TE/Clemson
48.) New England Patriots (fromOAK): Peter Konz C/Wisconsin
49.) San Diego Chargers: Mitchell Schwartz OT/California
50.) Chicago Bears: Mychal Kendricks LB/California
51.) Buffalo Bills (from PHI via ARI): Dwight Bentley CB/Louisiana-Lafyette  Good player from a small school, something this team loves. Only question will be if he can match the physicality of NFL WRs.
52.) Tennessee Titans: Kevin Zeitler OG/Wisconsin
53.) Cincinnati Bengals: LaMichael James RB/Oregon
54.) Detroit Lions: Bobby Wagner OLB/Utah St.
55.) Atlanta Falcons: Kendall Reyes DT/UConn
56.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Shea McClellin LB/Boise St.
57.) Denver Broncos: Mohammad Sanu WR/Rutgers
58.) Houston Texans: Alfonzo Dennard CB/Nebraska
59.) New Orleans Saints: NO PICK
60.) Green Bay Packers: Tyrone Crawford DE/Boise St.
61.) Baltimore Ravens: Michael Brewster C/Ohio St.
62.) San Francisco 49ers: Jamell Fleming CB/Oklahoma
63.) New England Patriots: Chris Givens WR/Wake Forest
64.) New York Giants: Doug Martin RB/Boise St.
Round 3

65.) Indianapolis Colts: Coby Fleener TE/Stanford
66.) St. Louis Rams: Lavonte David OLB/Nebraska
67.) Minnesota Vikings: Brian Quick WR/Appalachain St.
68.) Cleveland Browns: Orson Charles TE/Georgia
69.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Alameda Ta'amu DT/Washington
70.) Washington Redskins: Bruce Irvin OLB/West Virginia
71.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Juron Criner WR/Arizona
72.) Miami Dolphins: Greg Childs WR/Arkansas
73.) Carolina Panthers: Zebrie Sanders OT/Florida St.

Billy Winn
74.) Buffalo Bills: Billy Winn DE/Boise St.
75.) Kansas City Chiefs: Kelechi Osemele OG/Iowa St.
76.) New England Patriots (from SEA): George Iloka S/Boise St.
77.) Philadelphia Eagles: Michael Egnew TE/Missouri
78.) New York Jets: Cam Johnson DE/Virginia
79.) San Diego Chargers:  Lamar Miller RB/MiamiFL
80.) Miami Dolphins (fromCHI): Sean Spence OLB/MiamiFL
81.) Arizona Cardinals: Brandon Weeden QB/Oklahoma St.
82.) Dallas Cowboys: James-Michael Johnson LB/Nevada
83.) Tennessee Titans: Chris Polk RB/Washington
84.) Cincinnati Bengals: James Brown OG/Troy
85.) Atlanta Falcons: Jared Crick DE/Nebraska
86.) Detroit Lions: Ronnell Lewis OLB/Oklahoma
87.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Jake Bequette DE/Arkansas
88.) Denver Broncos: Brandon Boykin CB/Georgia
89.) Houston Texans: Nick Toon WR/Wisconsin
90.) New Orleans Saints: Mike Martin DT/Michigan
91.) Green Bay Packers: Antonio Allen S/South Carolina
92.) Baltimore Ravens: Ben Jones C/Georgia
93.) San Francisco 49ers: Audie Cole LB/North Carolina St.
94.) New England Patriots: Trevor Guyton DE/California
95.) New York Giants: Rhett Ellison TE/USC
96.) Oakland Raiders: Isiah Pead RB/Cincinnati

Mock #3-Free Agency

March Madness is upon us and NFL free agency has begun. I cannot express how March is one of my favorite months and also how excited and pumped I am for the start of the Bills season. I mean cmon, Mario Williams in B-lo?!?!?! Lets go. 2 more mocks after this one. Early April and right before draft day.

1.) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck QB/Stanford  Now a lock.

Matt Kalil
**Trade** St. Louis Rams trade the 2nd overall pick to the Washington Redskins for the 6th overall pick, and 2nd round this year as well as first round picks for 2013, 2014, and 2015.
2.) Washington Redskins: Robert Griffin III QB/Baylor  Now the trade is official and Griffin is a 'Skin. Fans in DC can only hope he is the best thing since sliced bread. That was an awful lot to give up.

3.) Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil OT/USC  The Vikings get their franchise LT for the next 10 to 12 years. Don't be too surprised to see a trade with this pick.

4.) Cleveland Browns: Trent Richardson RB/Alabama  The Browns need a difference maker in the backfield. Although running backs are no longer viewed as this valuable, Richardson is a can't miss.

5.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Michael Brockers DT/LSU  The Bucs could use improvement on their defensive line. Brockers is the top player available at the DT spot.

6.) St. Louis Rams: Dontari Poe DT/Memphis  Jeff Fisher likes to build a team in the trenches. You could look WR but I believe Fisher starts the rebuilding in the trenches.

7.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Justin Blackmon WR/Oklahoma St.  The Jags get somewhat lucky as Blackmon slips to this spot. Blackmon will have a high price tag if a team chooses to trade up to get him.

8.) Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill QB/Texas A&M  The Dolphins are desperate for something to make their fan base happy. Maybe a young QB is the start.

9.) Carolina Panthers: Fletcher Cox DT/Mississippi St.  The Panthers look like a potent offense with Cam Newton running the show, but their defense is a different story. Cox is a versatile player that adds bite to this punchless D.

Morris Claiborne

10.) Buffalo Bills: Morris Claiborne CB/LSU  After landing the biggest free agent in franchise history in Mario Williams, the Bills could look to a number of different holes. But with now an improved pass rush, they should look to improve the secondary. If Claiborne is sitting at this spot, Buddy Nix and the rest of them should take no time in making the decision. Potential shut down corner.

11.) Kansas City Chiefs: Riley Reiff OT/Iowa  The Chiefs could look to a few different spots to improve but getting that offensive line stronger should take priority.

12.) Seattle Seahawks: Melvin Ingram OLB/DE/South Carolina  The Seahawks need a  replacement for their loss of Aaron Curry last season and Ingram is the perfect fit.

13.) Arizona Cardinals: Luke Kuechly LB/Boston College  Adding this tough, blue-collar player will help the Cardinals compete again in the weak NFC West.

14.) Dallas Cowboys: Dre Kirkpatrick CB/Alabama  The Cowboys need to get nastier at the corner spot. Kirkpatrick can certainly pack a punch. Needs to improve off the field.

15.) Philadelphia Eagles:  Courtney Upshaw OLB/Alabama  The Eagles had very poor play from thier linebackers last season. Upshaw has shown he can be a dominant player at times.

16.) New York Jets: Quinton Coples DE/North Carolina  The Jets fill a hole with this pick. Coples falls much like other players projected to go top 10 last season.

17.) Cincinnati Bengals (fromOAK): Cordy Glenn OG/OT/Georgia  The Bengals showed growth last season. Glenn is a versatile player and can bring stability to this o-line.

Jerel Worthy

18.) San Diego Chargers: David DeCastro OG/Stanford  After the retirement of Kris Dielman, the Chargers could use a replacement. DeCastro has the potential to move to LT as well for the departure of Marcus McNeill.

19.) Chicago Bears: Jerel Worthy DT/Michigan St.  After landing Brandon Marshall, the Bears can now add more pieces to the o-line or d-line. Because there are no o-linemen worth taking at this spot, the MSU product is a good fit. He has a rising stock after his pro day.

20.) Tennessee Titans: Whitney Mercilus DE/Illinois  Need to add a pass rusher. Mercilus had 1 good season at Illinois so could be a risk.

21.) Cincinnati Bengals: David Wilson RB/Virginia Tech  After losing Cedric Benson, the Bengals need a RB. Wilson has an injury history but is still a talented player. Much like Jahvid Best.

22.) Cleveland Browns: Michael Floyd WR/Notre Dame  The Browns needed offensive playmakers in a
bad way. By adding Richardson and now Floyd, the Browns are taking steps in the right direction.

23.) Detroit Lions: Jonathan Martin OT/Stanford  The Lions should look to protect Matthew Stafford so he can throw to Calvin Johnson more often. Would be lucky if Martin falls to this spot.

24.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Janoris Jenkins CB/North Alabama  Despite his off the field issues, Jenkins is still a very talented player. Going to a team like the Steelers could really help this guy.

25.) Denver Broncos: Alameda Ta'amu DT/Washington  After landing Peyton Manning, the Broncos need to continue to build their defense. Ta'amu is an under the radar player.

26.) Houston Texans: Kendall Wright WR/Baylor  I keep going back and forth on what the Texans will do at this spot. To replace Mario Williams or not? Their defense was good last season, really good. So I went with a player to go oppostie Andre Johnson.

Dwight Bentley

27.) New England Patriots (from NO): Rueben Randle WR/LSU  The Patriots have not had a player like Randle since Randy Moss and could use more explosive players. The Super Bowl proved that.

28.) Green Bay Packers: Dwight Bentley CB/Louisiana-Lafayette  The Packers take a chance on a small school player. They usually have great success with these types of players and need another depth corner.

29.) Baltimore Ravens: Kendall Reyes DT/UConn  An under rated player goes to a defense where he can learn and grow. Could use a better push up front.

30.) San Francisco 49ers: Nick Perry DE/USC  The 49ers add even more snap to thier defense. Perry might be a 1 year wonder but with Harbaugh's teaching and proper use, he could be another force on this defense.

31.) New England Patriots: Peter Konz C/Wisconsin  This pick will probably be traded, but I am going with a smart Belichick type pick at this spot.

32.) New York Giants: Mike Adams OT/Ohio St.  The Giants could use more depth on their o-line and Adams could blossom into a franchise LT in the future.

Round 2
33.) St. Louis Rams: Stephen Hill WR/Georgia Tech
34.) Indianapolis Colts : Devon Still DT/Penn St.
35.) Minnesota Vikings: Andre Branch DE/Clemson
36.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Mark Barron S/Alabama
37.) Cleveland Browns: Dwayne Allen TE/Clemson
38.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Kevin Zeitler OG/Wisconsin

Alshon Jeffery
39.) St. Louis Rams (fromWAS): Zebrie Sanders OT/Florida St.
40.) Carolina Panthers: Brandon Boykin CB/Georgia
41.) Buffalo Bills: Alshon Jeffery WR/South Carolina  This is a player that has potential to be great. He has motivation problems but is the big type reciever with some speed the Bills could use.
42.) Miami Dolphins: Zach Brown OLB/North Carolina
43.) Seattle Seahawks: David Molk C/Michigan
44.) Kansas City Chiefs: Jake Bequette DE/Arkansas
45.) Dallas Cowboys: Coby Fleener TE/Stanford
46.) Philadelphia Eagles: Dont'a Hightower LB/Alabama
47.) New York Jets: Alfonzo Dennard CB/Nebraska
48.) New England Patriots (fromOAK): Ronnell Lewis OLB/Oklahoma
49.) San Diego Chargers: Chandler Jones DE/Syracuse
50.) Chicago Bears: Ben Jones C/Georgia
51.) Philadelphia Eagles (fromARI): Bobby Massie OT/Ole Miss
52.) Tennessee Titans: Stephon Gilmore CB/South Carolina
53.) Cincinnati Bengals: Jayron Hosley CB/Virginia Tech
54.) Detroit Lions: Mitchell Schwartz OT/California
55.) Atlanta Falcons: Brandon Thompson DT/Clemson
56.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Shea McClellin OLB/Boise St.
57.) Denver Broncos: Kirk Cousins QB/Michigan St.
58.) Houston Texans: Bobby Wagner OLB/Utah St.
59.) New Orleans Saints: Lavonte David OLB/Nebraska
60.) Green Bay Packers: Mohammad Sanu WR/Rutgers
61.) Baltimore Ravens: Kelechi Osemele OG/Iowa St.
62.) San Francisco 49ers: Chris Givens WR/Wake Forest
63.) New England Patriots: Josh Robinson CB/UCF
64.) New York Giants: Harrison Smith S/Notre Dame

Round 3
65.) Indianapolis Colts: Doug Martin RB/Boise St.
66.) St. Louis Rams: Bruce Irvin OLB/West Virginia
67.) Minnesota Vikings: Brian Quick WR/Appalachain St.
68.) Cleveland Browns: Amini Silatolu OG/Midwestern St.
69.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Lamar Miller RB/Miami FL
70.) Washington Redskins: Nigel Bradham OLB/Florida St.

Sean Spence
71.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Ladarius Green TE/Louisiana-Lafyette
72.) Miami Dolphins: Marvin Jones WR/California
73.) Carolina Panthers: Vinny Curry DE/Marshall
74.) Buffalo Bills: Sean Spence OLB/Miami FL
75.) Kansas City Chiefs: Brock Osweiler QB/Arizona St.
76.) Seattle Seahawks: Isiah Pead RB/Cincinnati
77.) Philadelphia Eagles: Robert Turbin RB/Utah St.
78.) New York Jets: Josh Chapman DT/Alabama
79.) San Diego Chargers: Matt McCants OT/UAB
80.) Miami Dolphins (fromCHI): Jared Crick DE/Nebraska
81.) Arizona Cardinals: Orson Charles TE/Georgia
82.) Dallas Cowboys: Trumaine Johnson CB/Montana
83.) Tennessee Titans: George Iloka S/Boise St.
84.) Cincinnati Bengals: Greg Childs WR/Arkansas
85.) Atlanta Falcons: James-Michael Johnson LB/Nevada
86.) Detroit Lions: Mychal Kendricks LB/California
87.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Brandon Washington OG/Miami FL
88.) Denver Broncos: Michael Brewster C/Ohio St.
89.) Houston Texans: Josh Kaddu OLB/Oregon
90.) New Orleans Saints: Billy Winn DE/Boise St.
91.) Green Bay Packers: Michael Egnew TE/Missouri
92.) Baltimore Ravens: Marcus Forston DT/Miami FL
93.) San Francisco 49ers: Leonard Johnson CB/Iowa St.
94.) New England Patriots: Chris Polk RB/Washington
95.) New York Giants: Cyrus Gray RB/Texas A&M

Mock Draft #2 (post-Combine)

We are now getting into the fun time of year. March is right around the corner which means the Madness is also right around the corner. NFL free agency is also in March and o yea our national pasttime gets some spring action too. The NFL Draft is not too far off either. So here it is mock #2. Lemme know what you think!

Robert Griffin III

1.) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck QB/Stanford  With an impressive performance at the NFL Combine, Luck solidifies his position at number 1. With that said, RGIII has closed the gap significantly. Looking forward to the pro days.

**Trade** St. Louis Rams trade their pick to the Washington Redskins in exchange for their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th this year as well as 1st next season.
2.) Washington Redskins: Robert Griffin III QB/Baylor  The premium on RGIII has skyrocketed after the combine. The Rams are in a perfect position to trade this pick and it appears the Redskins are the favorite. Those assets are what its going to take to get this spot.

3.) Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil OT/USC  The best offensive line product in this draft fills a position of need in Minny. About as sure a pick as Luck at number 1.

4.) Cleveland Browns: Justin Blackmon WR/Oklahoma St.  After missing out on RGIII the Browns need to do whatever they can to help Colt McCoy be a better QB. Blackmon has gamechanger written all over him, something this offense desperately needs.

5.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Morris Claiborne CB/LSU  Although Trent Richardson is tempting, this is a major position of need in Tampa. Claiborne is a lot like former teammate and last year first round pick Patrick Peterson.

6.) St. Louis Rams (fromWAS): Riley Reiff OT/Iowa  Sam Bradford is the guy now going forward. He has been hit too many times in his young career. He is not the flashy playmaker but Reiff will bring stability to the o-line.

**Trade** Jacksonville Jaguars trade thier pick to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for their 2 1st round picks, 3rd, and 5th this year.
7.) Cincinnati Bengals: Trent Richardson RB/Alabama  The Bengals can't afford to sit back any longer. They need a back as Cedric Benson most likely will not return to the team. Richardson is a game changer and will help develop Andy Dalton as well.

8.) Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill QB/Texas A&M  Although I believe the Dolphins will get a QB through free agency, it doesn't hurt to have a potential franchise guy on the roster. Tannehill is shooting up boards. A lot will depend on his pro day.

Courtney Upshaw

9.) Carolina Panthers: Michael Brockers DT/LSU  The Panthers have a rejuvenated offense with Cam Newton. Their defense however was brutal last season. Brockers can be a dominant player when he wants to be, something that may deter teams from selecting him. Regardless, he is a top 10 talent.

10.) Buffalo Bills: Courtney Upshaw OLB/Alabama  The more I have thought about it the more I am liking the idea of Upshaw wearing a Bills uni. He brings something Aaron Maybin never could, heart. Upshaw played on a pro style defense (like Marcell Dareus) and will fill a void left open for years on this team. At some point, one of these guys has to hit, right?

11.) Kansas City Chiefs: Jonathan Martin OT/Stanford  The Chiefs are a team that no one could figure out last season. At times looked pitiful others looked unstoppable. Martin will fill a position need and get this team back to thier 2010 ways.

12.) Seattle Seahawks: Fletcher Cox DT/Mississippi St.  Like Tannehill, Cox has a rising stock. This high would be a gamble but that is how Pete Carroll likes to play. He has a chance to be great.

13.) Arizona Cardinals: Quinton Coples DE/North Carolina  Like last year, a top DE falls out the top 10 due to either injury concerns or lack of motivation. Coples has the lack of motivation at times but can be dominating. I think the Cardinals would love to have him fall here like Nick Fairley did to Detroit last season.

14.) Dallas Cowboys: Melvin Ingram OLB/South Carolina  The Cowboys need to bolster the pass rush. DeMarcus Ware cannot do it alone although he is pretty darn good at it. Ingram will allow Rob Ryan flexibility in his already complex defense.

15.) Philadelphia Eagles: Luke Kuechly LB/Boston College  The Eagles fill a major need with this pick. Their linebacking corp was horrendous last season and Kuechly is a sure safe pick at this spot.

16.) New York Jets: Whitney Mercilus DE/Illinois  Ok, ok Maybin was a cute story but get real. He played only in pass rushing situations and still looked lost at times. Mercilus had a breakout season this year and could be a hit or miss.

17.) Jacksonville Jaguars (fromCIN viaOAK): Devon Still DT/Penn St.  Another top 10 talent slips to this spot. The Jags could use an offensive weapon for Blaine Gabbert but they do have another first round pick in a few selections. They should focus on defense with this spot.

18.) San Diego Chargers: Nick Perry DE/USC  Perry is another player that somewhat was a one year wonder. These players are hard to judge but many believe Perry will be a dominant player at some point in his career, may take a few years.

19.) Chicago Bears: Michael Floyd WR/Notre Dame  The Bears are desperate for a deep threat with the physical play an elite reciever needs. Floyd is that perfect combo.

20.) Tennessee Titans: Dre Kirkpatrick CB/Alabama  With the possibility of losing Cortland Finnegan in free agency, the Titans need to fill this spot. Much like Prince Amukamara from last season, a top CB prospect slips outside the top 15.

David Wilson

21.) Jacksonville Jaguars (fromCIN): Kendall Wright WR/Baylor  The Jags get their offensive playmaker at this spot. Gabbert needs someone to throw to. To be honest, I cannot name a reciever on the Jaguars current roster. Yikes.

22.) Cleveland Browns (fromATL): David Wilson RB/Virginia Tech  With the possibility of losing Peyton Hillis, the Browns need another skill player on offense. With this pick, they now potentially could have a "Big 3" with McCoy, Blackmon, and now Wilson.

23.) Detroit Lions: Dont'a Hightower LB/Alabama  Let's be honest. Offensively this team is explosive. They in a way covered up some short comings on defense. Hightower has an incredible motor and will help make this defense almost impossible to run up the middle on.

24.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Cordy Glenn OG/Georgia  While his position may say guard, he has played most of his career at left tackle and is a riser. The Steelers could not protect Big Ben last season and Glenn will fill a need.

25.) Denver Broncos: Jerel Worthy DT/Michigan St. Could not stop the run last season. Tebow could use offensive help, but improving the run should be a major concern for the Broncos this offseason.

26.) Houston Texans: Andre Branch DE/Clemson  Many believe it will be a wideout here but don't forget they may lose Mario Williams. Someone will need to fill the hole if he leaves.

27.) New England Patriots (fromNO): David DeCastro OG/Stanford  Typical Belichick pick. He knows Brady is getting older and needs to keep him upright. DeCastro is a top 15 talent but due to different position needs slips to this spot.

28.) Green Bay Packers: Brandon Thompson DT/Clemson  The Packers fell from grace this past season but still looked like a force. With a little more bite in the defense, this team will be right back where it feels comfortable, deep in the postseason.

29.) Baltimore Ravens: Peter Konz C/Wisconsin  Matt Birk's career is likely over and C will be a major hole to fill. Konz is a product of the Bielema o-line crew and knows how to move people. Smart pick.

30.) San Francisco 49ers: Mohammad Sanu WR/Rutgers  The 49ers are one playmaker away from being a great team. Crabtree hasn't really lived up to the expectations. Sanu attracts the football and nearly catches everything thrown his way.

31.) New England Patriots: Janoris Jenkins CB/North Alabama Don't be surprised to see a trade here but the Pats have a bad secondary. The former Gator has talent but needs to improve his off the field problems. New England is a perfect fit for someone like him.

32.) New York Giants: Mike Adams OT/Ohio St.  The Giants are great defensively and I mean great. The o-line is getting older and Adams will be a project but is NFL ready at this point.

Round 2

33.) St. Louis Rams: Reuben Randle WR/LSU
34.) Indianapolis Colts : Dontari Poe DT/Memphis
35.) Minnesota Vikings: Alfonzo Dennard CB/Nebraska
36.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  Lamar Miller RB/Miami FL
37.) Cleveland Browns: Zebrie Sanders OT/Florida St.
Chandler Jones
38.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Brandon Boykin CB/Georgia
39.) St. Louis Rams (fromWAS): Stephon Gilmore CB/South Carolina
40.) Carolina Panthers: Kelechi Osemele OG/Iowa St.
41.) Buffalo Bills: Chandler Jones DE/Syracuse  Jones possesses a motor much like Luke Kuechly. He is relentless and can be a force for the Bills defensive line. His biggest knock was playing in the Big East at Syracuse. Other than that he is a fine talent.
42.) Miami Dolphins: Brandon Washington OG/Miami FL
43.) Seattle Seahawks: Stephon Hill WR/Georgia Tech
44.) Kansas City Chiefs: Kendall Reyes DT/UConn
45.) Dallas Cowboys: Zach Brown OLB/North Carolina
46.) Philadelphia Eagles: Mark Barron S/Alabama
47.) New York Jets: Alshon Jeffery WR/South Carolina
48.) New England Patriots (fromOAK): Ronnell Lewis OLB/Oklahoma
49.) San Diego Chargers: Dwayne Allen TE/Clemson
50.) Chicago Bears: LaMichael James RB/Oregon
51.) Philadelphia Eagles (fromARI): Nick Toon WR/Wisconsin
52.) Tennessee Titans: Lavonte David OLB/Nebraska
53.) Cincinnati Bengals: Mitchell Schwartz OT/California
54.) Detroit Lions: Trumaine Johnson CB/Montana
55.) Atlanta Falcons: Alameda Ta'amu DT/Washington
56.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Martin DT/Michigan
57.) Denver Broncos: Coby Fleener TE/Stanford
58.) Houston Texans: Chris Givens WR/Wake Forest
59.) New Orleans Saints: George Iloka S/Boise St.
60.) Green Bay Packers: Jayron Hosley CB/Virginia Tech
61.) Baltimore Ravens: Isiah Pead RB/Cincinnati
62.) San Francisco 49ers: Harrison Smith S/Notre Dame
63.) New England Patriots: Dwight Jones WR/North Carolina
64.) New York Giants: Bobby Wagner OLB/Utah St.

First Mock 2012 Draft

Andrew Luck

So it begins. Yet another draft season gets under way and I could not be happier. March Madness is right around the corner which will make this a whole lot more fun even though it has nothing to do with football. Anyway, here is my first mock based on my impressions based solely on the 2012 college football season. Just to give a timeline, expect one sometime in Feb, 2 in March and 2 in April.

1.) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck QB/Stanford  This is almost a locked in pick. There will be hardly no debate over this pick. Especially now with Peyton Manning questioning the direction of the team, the Colts will nab their second once in a lifetime QB with Luck.

2.) St. Louis Rams: Justin Blackmon WR/Oklahoma State  Potential trade spot here, look for new head coach Jeff Fisher to layout all his options. Will he move forward with Sam Bradford as his guy? I believe so. But again, good spot for a trade here for a QB needy team i.e Washington, Miami, Cleveland. If not, Blackmon will be the top target Bradford has desperatly needed.

3.) Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil OT/USC  Moving forward with Christian Ponder as their QB, how about keeping him upright? The Vikings were brutal at pass blocking last season and Kalil is as close to a sure thing at his position as Luck.

4.) Cleveland Browns: Robert Griffin III QB/Baylor  If the Browns choose to swap picks with the Rams, this would be their guy. But again, a lot depends on what St. Louis deems as the best offer. Perhaps though, Cleveland finally catches a break and gets a guy who just seems destined for greatness.

5.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Morris Claiborne CB/LSU  I debated with myself over this pick. A RB or CB? I went with CB but it is early and that could change. With this pick a RB just seems to high even though a Trent Richardson would be a popular pick. Claiborne seems like the safer pick.

6.) Washington Redskins: Quinton Coples DE/North Carolina  After missing on their QB and WR, the Skins may look to move back in the draft. If not, the should bolster an already stout defense. Add Coples with Orakpo and last year's number one selection Ryan Kerrigan, the Redskins have a defense to be reckoned with.

7.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Riley Reiff OT/Iowa  Sure Blaine Gabbert could use offensive weapons, but more importantly he needs to stay on his feet. He was beaten up in his rookie campaign. Reiff is getting hot at the right time. Some are even saying he could go before Kalil. Solid and smart pick for the Jags.

8.) Carolina Panthers: Devon Still DT/Penn State  Cam Newton showed why he was worthy of the number one overall pick last season and dramatically improved a sluggish offense. The achilles heel for this team last season was the porous defense. Yes they put up a ton of points but they also gave up a ton. In order to be considered a threat, Carolina should beef up the D.

9.) Miami Dolphins: Jonathan Martin OT/Stanford  The Fins have potential to be a good team next season. Rumors have it they are very interested in acquiring eyton Manning should he become available. Regardless, the Dolphins should look to solidify the O-line with this intelligent player. Martin and Jake Long could be the best tackle duo in the NFL.

10.)  Buffalo Bills: Melvin Ingram OLB/South Carolina  Regarded as the best pass rusher in this class, Ingram would fill a position of need for this team. The Bills at times showed promise last season. Others, it was same old Bills. Perhaps this guy can finally be that presence of the edge and maybe just maybe Merriman can do something for this team. Either way he fills major hole.

11.) Kansas City Chiefs: David DeCastro OG/Stanford  This player will help the Chiefs return to the dominant ways of the early 2000s. Hard nosed running with physical and intelligent play. Not to mention Matt Cassel cannot get hit the way he did this past season.

12.) Seattle Seahawks: Dre Kirkpatrick CB/Alabama  Seattle had some good moments last season. Defensively though they can improve a lot. Kirkpatrick was fierce in the title game and could provide this team with much needed secondary help and depth.

13.) Arizona Cardinals: Luke Kuechly ILB/Boston College  One of the most prductive college players ever, Kuechly will help a Cardinals team I believe that is in rebuilding mode. His awareness and ability to get to the ball will be a building block for this team in the upcoming future.

14.) Dallas Cowboys: Courtney Upshaw OLB/Alabama  I know this is a guy many Bills fans would like to see. But from my comparisons I still view Ingram as of today to be the better NFL player. Upshaw will for sure bring a lot to any team he goes to and the Cowboys need a better pass rush.

15.) Philadelphia Eagles: Michael Floyd WR/Notre Dame  DeSean Jackson is all but out the door in Philly. Floyd is a big reciever who can go up and make incredible catches. Mike Vick will love this pick.

16.) New York Jets: Mark Barron S/Alabama  There is nothing more greater than watching Rex Ryan swallow his own words. The Jets drastically underachieved this past season and they lost their defensive identity. Jim Leonhard cannot stay healthy and Barron could provide the extra bite this team needs.

17.) Cincinnati Bengals(From OAK): Trent Richardson RB/Alabama  The Bengals get lucky and have the best RB fall into their lap at 17. For now. This team needs a better running game and Richardson will certainly provide that. Arguabkly the best player in this draft.

18.) San Diego Chargers: Zach Brown OLB/North Carolina  Just like most teams, the Chargers lacked a consistent pass rush. Brown, though undersized, can give this team what it needs at that position.

19.) Chicago Bears: Kendall Wright WR/Baylor  The Bears did not have a WR worth mentioning last season. When Cutler went down so did the Bears. This team desperately needs a playmaker, especially if Forte decides to walk. Wright can be that guy.

20.) Tennessee Titans: Nick Perry DE/USC  Perry is considered to be one of the top pass rushers in the draft. His biggest knock is his size. If he can gain a few pounds and improve his sideline to sideline speed, he has potential to be a top 10 pick. For now, hes a good fit in Tennessee.

21.) Cincinnati Bengals: Alfonzo Dennard CB/Nebraska  After Jonathan Joseph left in free agency the Bengals were left in a tight spot. Dennard, while not the most talented player, should provide depth at a weakness position last season.

22.) Cleveland Browns(From ATL): Whitney Mercilus DE/Illinois  The Browns selected two D-lineman last season which proved to be a good move. Mercilus is not an every down type player and his motivation is questionable. Perhaps he could slip out the first round but you can never have enough pass rush, ie Giants and 49ers.

23.) Detroit Lions: Janoris Jenkins CB/North Alabama  The former Gator gets picked here. After being forced to transfer for violations, Jenkins is still a high quality player. The Lions need a guy that can make plays against QBs like Rodgers and Cutler.

24.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Adams OT/Ohio State  The Steelers clearly need an upgrade along the o-line. Big Ben was just destroyed this past season. Although raw at this point, Adams has potential to develop into a top tier pro-bowl type player.

25.) Denver Broncos: Chase Minnifield CB/Virginia  Champ Bailey can't play forever. It is time for this team to bring a young prospect that can learn from Champ while he is still around. At this point in the draft any CB taken would be a risk but has potential to be a great pick if you hit the right one.

26.) Houston Texans: Mohammad Sanu WR/Rutgers  A catch machine at Rutgers, Sanu could be the missing piece for this team. Their defense is great so adding another playmaker along with Arian Foster and Andre Johnson, you are looking at a legitimate threat to win the AFC next season.

27.) New England Patriots(From NO): Michael Brockers DT/LSU  Many people have him going in the top 15. I didn't see enough to make him go that high. He is a steady and sound player but fits here towards the end of round 1. The Pats need a push outside of Wilfork.

28.) Green Bay Packers: Jerel Worthy DT/Michigan State  Speaking of push, Eli Manning had all day to throw in that playoff game. The Packers need a big mean guy like Worthy to come in and disrupt some things offesively.

29.) Baltimore Ravens: Peter Konz C/Wisconsin  Not a sexy pick but one that is needed. Chances are Matt Birk retires leaving a gaping hole at the center position. Konz was a Badger where offensive line is king. A smart and safe pick for the Ravens.

30.) San Francisco 49ers: Dontari Poe DT/Memphis  This guy is big. 6'5" 350 are his pre-combine measurables. Add him to the middle of one of the best defenses in the NFL, the 49ers may never give up a rushing TD.

31.) New York Giants: Kelechi Osemele OG/Iowa State  The Giants surprisingly made it to the Super Bowl. Defensively they do not need much help with most of their secondary set to return from injury. If they don't resign Nicks, WR would be an option but for now adding offensive line depth is a quality choice.

32.) New England Patriots: Fletcher Cox DT/Mississippi State  Why not add to big guys for the d-line? Cox can play DE as well. Add these guys to a line with Wilfork, good luck AFC East.
