Mock Draft #2 (post-Combine)

We are now getting into the fun time of year. March is right around the corner which means the Madness is also right around the corner. NFL free agency is also in March and o yea our national pasttime gets some spring action too. The NFL Draft is not too far off either. So here it is mock #2. Lemme know what you think!

Robert Griffin III

.) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck QB/Stanford  With an impressive performance at the NFL Combine, Luck solidifies his position at number 1. With that said, RGIII has closed the gap significantly. Looking forward to the pro days.

**Trade** St. Louis Rams trade their pick to the Washington Redskins in exchange for their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th this year as well as 1st next season.
.) Washington Redskins: Robert Griffin III QB/Baylor  The premium on RGIII has skyrocketed after the combine. The Rams are in a perfect position to trade this pick and it appears the Redskins are the favorite. Those assets are what its going to take to get this spot.

.) Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil OT/USC  The best offensive line product in this draft fills a position of need in Minny. About as sure a pick as Luck at number 1.

.) Cleveland Browns: Justin Blackmon WR/Oklahoma St.  After missing out on RGIII the Browns need to do whatever they can to help Colt McCoy be a better QB. Blackmon has gamechanger written all over him, something this offense desperately needs.

.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Morris Claiborne CB/LSU  Although Trent Richardson is tempting, this is a major position of need in Tampa. Claiborne is a lot like former teammate and last year first round pick Patrick Peterson.

.) St. Louis Rams (fromWAS): Riley Reiff OT/Iowa  Sam Bradford is the guy now going forward. He has been hit too many times in his young career. He is not the flashy playmaker but Reiff will bring stability to the o-line.

**Trade** Jacksonville Jaguars trade thier pick to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for their 2 1st round picks, 3rd, and 5th this year.
.) Cincinnati Bengals: Trent Richardson RB/Alabama  The Bengals can't afford to sit back any longer. They need a back as Cedric Benson most likely will not return to the team. Richardson is a game changer and will help develop Andy Dalton as well.

.) Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill QB/Texas A&M  Although I believe the Dolphins will get a QB through free agency, it doesn't hurt to have a potential franchise guy on the roster. Tannehill is shooting up boards. A lot will depend on his pro day.

Courtney Upshaw

.) Carolina Panthers: Michael Brockers DT/LSU  The Panthers have a rejuvenated offense with Cam Newton. Their defense however was brutal last season. Brockers can be a dominant player when he wants to be, something that may deter teams from selecting him. Regardless, he is a top 10 talent.

.) Buffalo Bills: Courtney Upshaw OLB/Alabama  The more I have thought about it the more I am liking the idea of Upshaw wearing a Bills uni. He brings something Aaron Maybin never could, heart. Upshaw played on a pro style defense (like Marcell Dareus) and will fill a void left open for years on this team. At some point, one of these guys has to hit, right?

.) Kansas City Chiefs: Jonathan Martin OT/Stanford  The Chiefs are a team that no one could figure out last season. At times looked pitiful others looked unstoppable. Martin will fill a position need and get this team back to thier 2010 ways.

.) Seattle Seahawks: Fletcher Cox DT/Mississippi St.  Like Tannehill, Cox has a rising stock. This high would be a gamble but that is how Pete Carroll likes to play. He has a chance to be great.

.) Arizona Cardinals: Quinton Coples DE/North Carolina  Like last year, a top DE falls out the top 10 due to either injury concerns or lack of motivation. Coples has the lack of motivation at times but can be dominating. I think the Cardinals would love to have him fall here like Nick Fairley did to Detroit last season.

.) Dallas Cowboys: Melvin Ingram OLB/South Carolina  The Cowboys need to bolster the pass rush. DeMarcus Ware cannot do it alone although he is pretty darn good at it. Ingram will allow Rob Ryan flexibility in his already complex defense.

.) Philadelphia Eagles: Luke Kuechly LB/Boston College  The Eagles fill a major need with this pick. Their linebacking corp was horrendous last season and Kuechly is a sure safe pick at this spot.

.) New York Jets: Whitney Mercilus DE/Illinois  Ok, ok Maybin was a cute story but get real. He played only in pass rushing situations and still looked lost at times. Mercilus had a breakout season this year and could be a hit or miss.

.) Jacksonville Jaguars (fromCIN viaOAK): Devon Still DT/Penn St.  Another top 10 talent slips to this spot. The Jags could use an offensive weapon for Blaine Gabbert but they do have another first round pick in a few selections. They should focus on defense with this spot.

.) San Diego Chargers: Nick Perry DE/USC  Perry is another player that somewhat was a one year wonder. These players are hard to judge but many believe Perry will be a dominant player at some point in his career, may take a few years.

.) Chicago Bears: Michael Floyd WR/Notre Dame  The Bears are desperate for a deep threat with the physical play an elite reciever needs. Floyd is that perfect combo.

.) Tennessee Titans: Dre Kirkpatrick CB/Alabama  With the possibility of losing Cortland Finnegan in free agency, the Titans need to fill this spot. Much like Prince Amukamara from last season, a top CB prospect slips outside the top 15.

David Wilson

.) Jacksonville Jaguars (fromCIN): Kendall Wright WR/Baylor  The Jags get their offensive playmaker at this spot. Gabbert needs someone to throw to. To be honest, I cannot name a reciever on the Jaguars current roster. Yikes.

.) Cleveland Browns (fromATL): David Wilson RB/Virginia Tech  With the possibility of losing Peyton Hillis, the Browns need another skill player on offense. With this pick, they now potentially could have a "Big 3" with McCoy, Blackmon, and now Wilson.

.) Detroit Lions: Dont'a Hightower LB/Alabama  Let's be honest. Offensively this team is explosive. They in a way covered up some short comings on defense. Hightower has an incredible motor and will help make this defense almost impossible to run up the middle on.

.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Cordy Glenn OG/Georgia  While his position may say guard, he has played most of his career at left tackle and is a riser. The Steelers could not protect Big Ben last season and Glenn will fill a need.

.) Denver Broncos: Jerel Worthy DT/Michigan St. Could not stop the run last season. Tebow could use offensive help, but improving the run should be a major concern for the Broncos this offseason.

.) Houston Texans: Andre Branch DE/Clemson  Many believe it will be a wideout here but don't forget they may lose Mario Williams. Someone will need to fill the hole if he leaves.

.) New England Patriots (fromNO): David DeCastro OG/Stanford  Typical Belichick pick. He knows Brady is getting older and needs to keep him upright. DeCastro is a top 15 talent but due to different position needs slips to this spot.

.) Green Bay Packers: Brandon Thompson DT/Clemson  The Packers fell from grace this past season but still looked like a force. With a little more bite in the defense, this team will be right back where it feels comfortable, deep in the postseason.

.) Baltimore Ravens: Peter Konz C/Wisconsin  Matt Birk's career is likely over and C will be a major hole to fill. Konz is a product of the Bielema o-line crew and knows how to move people. Smart pick.

.) San Francisco 49ers: Mohammad Sanu WR/Rutgers  The 49ers are one playmaker away from being a great team. Crabtree hasn't really lived up to the expectations. Sanu attracts the football and nearly catches everything thrown his way.

.) New England Patriots: Janoris Jenkins CB/North Alabama Don't be surprised to see a trade here but the Pats have a bad secondary. The former Gator has talent but needs to improve his off the field problems. New England is a perfect fit for someone like him.

.) New York Giants: Mike Adams OT/Ohio St.  The Giants are great defensively and I mean great. The o-line is getting older and Adams will be a project but is NFL ready at this point.

Round 2

.) St. Louis Rams: Reuben Randle WR/LSU
.) Indianapolis Colts : Dontari Poe DT/Memphis
.) Minnesota Vikings: Alfonzo Dennard CB/Nebraska
.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers:  Lamar Miller RB/Miami FL
.) Cleveland Browns: Zebrie Sanders OT/Florida St.
Chandler Jones
.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Brandon Boykin CB/Georgia
.) St. Louis Rams (fromWAS): Stephon Gilmore CB/South Carolina
.) Carolina Panthers: Kelechi Osemele OG/Iowa St.
.) Buffalo Bills: Chandler Jones DE/Syracuse  Jones possesses a motor much like Luke Kuechly. He is relentless and can be a force for the Bills defensive line. His biggest knock was playing in the Big East at Syracuse. Other than that he is a fine talent.
.) Miami Dolphins: Brandon Washington OG/Miami FL
.) Seattle Seahawks: Stephon Hill WR/Georgia Tech
.) Kansas City Chiefs: Kendall Reyes DT/UConn
.) Dallas Cowboys: Zach Brown OLB/North Carolina
.) Philadelphia Eagles: Mark Barron S/Alabama
.) New York Jets: Alshon Jeffery WR/South Carolina
.) New England Patriots (fromOAK): Ronnell Lewis OLB/Oklahoma
.) San Diego Chargers: Dwayne Allen TE/Clemson
.) Chicago Bears: LaMichael James RB/Oregon
.) Philadelphia Eagles (fromARI): Nick Toon WR/Wisconsin
.) Tennessee Titans: Lavonte David OLB/Nebraska
.) Cincinnati Bengals: Mitchell Schwartz OT/California
.) Detroit Lions: Trumaine Johnson CB/Montana
.) Atlanta Falcons: Alameda Ta'amu DT/Washington
.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Martin DT/Michigan
.) Denver Broncos: Coby Fleener TE/Stanford
.) Houston Texans: Chris Givens WR/Wake Forest
.) New Orleans Saints: George Iloka S/Boise St.
.) Green Bay Packers: Jayron Hosley CB/Virginia Tech
.) Baltimore Ravens: Isiah Pead RB/Cincinnati
.) San Francisco 49ers: Harrison Smith S/Notre Dame
.) New England Patriots: Dwight Jones WR/North Carolina
.) New York Giants: Bobby Wagner OLB/Utah St.
